🌟ISRAELI WONDER🌟 is a standup performance interlaced with stories about life, love, experiences as an Israeli living in America, growing up with a very Jewish single mother, and many comedy songs inspired by those subjects and more. All of the above comes wrapped up in one show performed in English with an ever present thick Israeli accent.

Yael Gavish Breen is an Israeli born standup comedian who began her journey at the age of 15 on the comedy stages of Israel by performing in Hebrew. Today, almost fourteen years later, she tries to figure out what her version of the American Dream is by touring, performing and exploring the world of Israeli Wonder.

To celebrate our anniversary, we’re turning the tables and are bringing out the show creator -- Anne Zander -- as our guest diarist! As part of the Comedy Really Cares holiday fundraiser, all profits from the December show will be donated to the Oregon Justice Resource Center. You can also bring a new, unwrapped toy for our Doernbecher Children’s Hospital toy drive!

Anne is an actor, improviser, producer and character creator. Her solo show, JUICEBOX, will be headed to the Chicago Sketchfest in January, after runs at Fertile Ground, Portland Sketchfest and Ha Ha Harvest Fest locally. The rediscovered middle-school diary that sparked both her solo show and Dear Diary will be at the center of this special anniversary fundraiser show!

Jessica (Zander) is a “completely ridiculous” but “completely vulnerable” adolescent who just wants to go to the movies with her crush, but circumstances intervene and her life is forever changed (BroadwayWorld). With clowning, improvisation, music, and very bad seduction, JUICEBOX is a 45-minute, over-the-top spectacle that is completely relatable to anyone who has ever been a teenager.

Kickstand Comedy's Lit-Mondo creates hilarious live improv comedy scenes inspired by literature and poetry from local Portland authors! This event features a cast of Kickstand regulars and is part of 2019 Lit Crawl, celebrating writers at events across the city.

At July’s Dear Diary, Hallie will delve into her past and share real passages of her teen writing for comedy fodder!
